The question we hear three times a day

If you're reading this, there's a good chance you've got a pair of sneakers open in another tab, a price that looks too good to be a scam but too steep to throw away on a guess, and a small voice in your head asking, wait, is this place actually real?

Good. That's the right voice to listen to. We'd rather you ask the question now than find out the hard way later.

The short answer: yes, Kicks Machine is a legit, India-based sneaker, luxury bag, and streetwear marketplace. We've been at this since 2021, shipped to over 80,000 customers across India, and we run physical stores you can walk into.

For the full breakdown of how we authenticate every product and what protections you have if anything goes wrong, see our Is Kicks Machine Legit page. This post is the story behind it.

Why this question even exists

The Indian sneaker scene in 2021 was a mess. If you wanted a real pair of Jordan 4s or Yeezys, your options were:

  1. Fly to Dubai or Singapore
  2. Pay a reseller 2x the price
  3. Hope the Instagram dropshipper actually had what they posted
  4. Buy something marked "1:1" and pretend

We started Kicks Machine because option five didn't exist: a marketplace that sold the real thing, sourced from official retailers and verified marketplace sellers, with an authentication process that wasn't just vibes.

Four years in, the "is it legit" question still comes up, and we don't blame anyone for asking. The counterfeit market is enormous, and the default assumption for a lot of Indian buyers is guilty until proven innocent. That's fair. So this is us proving it.

What "100% authentic" actually means here

When we say every pair is authentic, here is what is behind the claim.

1. Six in-house checks on every product. Box label, stitching, materials, weight, SKU match, and packaging accessories. Every unit, not just a sample.

2. Two third-party authenticators on borderline pairs. We run them through CheckCheck and Legit App, the same independent services used by global resale platforms like StockX and GOAT. If a pair doesn't pass both internal and external checks, it doesn't ship.

3. A free authentication certificate on request. Email us before your order is dispatched and we'll put the paperwork in the box. No upcharge.

4. Physical stores. Walk in, hold the box, talk to the team.

The full technical breakdown lives on our Authenticity Guarantee page. The point is simple: there is no version of our process where a fake gets through.

What happens if you still think it's fake

This is the part most brands get cute about. We won't.

If you receive a pair and you think it isn't real, here is exactly what happens:

  1. You email or WhatsApp us within 3 days of delivery with photos and unboxing videos.
  2. We send the pair to a third-party authenticator at our cost.
  3. If we're wrong, 100% refund instantly. We also figure out what went wrong upstream so it doesn't happen to anyone else.

In four years and 80,000+ customers, we've gone through this process fewer than a handful of times. The policy exists not because we expect to use it but because it's the only promise that actually matters when you're spending real money.

The self-check (because you shouldn't take anyone's word for it)

Whether you buy from us or anywhere else, every sneakerhead should know how to authenticate their own pair. Here's a checklist that works across most Jordan, Dunk, Yeezy, Samba, and Air Force 1 models.

  • Box label. SKU, size, country code, and barcode should all match the shoe inside. Fonts sharp, not blurry.
  • Stitching. Tight and even. Loose threads or skipped stitches around the toe box and the Swoosh or three stripes are red flags.
  • Materials. Real leather has texture and slight imperfection. Fakes feel uniformly smooth and a bit plasticky.
  • Weight. Authentic pairs usually feel slightly heavier because the midsole foam and outsole rubber are denser.
  • Smell. Counterfeits often smell strongly of glue. Real pairs are close to neutral.
  • Insole and tongue tag. Size, country, and SKU on the tongue tag should match the box. Insole prints should be sharp, not smudged.
  • QR or NFC tag. Newer Nike and Adidas releases ship with these. Scan them. They should resolve to a brand-owned page.

If any of this looks off on a pair you bought from us, tell us. That's the deal.

Why we'd never sell a fake (the boring business reason)

We get the cynical version of the question too: sure, but what's stopping you from slipping in one fake and pocketing the margin?

The math.

One fake pair, found out, ends Kicks Machine. We lose the customer, the Instagram callout, the legal standing with the brands we stock, and the trust we've spent four years building with 80,000+ buyers. The upside is maybe ₹15,000. The downside is the entire company.

Nobody runs that trade. We certainly don't.

That's also why we over-invest in the front end: six in-house checks, two third-party services, free certificates, and a money-back guarantee. The model only works if the floor is solid.

A few more questions we get

1. Is Kicks Machine India a different company? No. Same company, same team, same warehouse. "Kicks Machine India" is just how some customers refer to us in search.

2. Do you sell originals or "1:1" copies? Only originals. We do not carry replicas in any form. If a product is on our site, it has been through the authentication process.

3. Do you sell original Jordans and Yeezys? Yes. Every Jordan 1, Jordan 4, Jordan 11, and every Yeezy is 100% authentic. Same authentication standard across the board.

4. Do you sell original luxury bags? Yes. Our Coach, Michael Kors, and designer bag inventory goes through the same checks. Original packaging, dust bags, and tags included.

5. Where are you based? Our Headquaters are in Dehradun but ship across India from our 15+  fulfillment center.

6. Can I just walk into a store? Yes, please do. Try the shoes on, inspect the box, ask whatever you want. The team is there for exactly that.

The honest summary:

Kicks Machine is a real company. The product is real. The process is real. The guarantee is real, and we have honored it every time it has been called on.

If you've still got doubts, the best thing you can do is what we've been telling people for four years: walk into a store, message us on Instagram, or place a small first order and inspect it yourself. Start small, stay if it checks out.

For the formal trust breakdown (process, certifications, guarantee terms), the Is Kicks Machine Legit page has all of it in one place.

See you in the order confirmation.
