Alphafly 2 or the newer Alphafly 3: which should a budget conscious racer pick?

The Alphafly 2 delivers nearly the same race day performance at a lower price point, since the Air Zoom pods and plate design carry over. Pick the 3 only if you want the latest foam update; otherwise the 2 is the smarter buy for most club racers.

Does the Alphafly 2 suit Indian marathon training blocks through winter months?

Yes, the Vaporweave upper handles cooler morning training runs well across Delhi and north Indian winter marathon prep. Reserve it for race day and key workouts rather than daily mileage, since the plated foam is not built for everyday training volume.

How many kilometres does an Alphafly 2 last before the foam feels dead?

Most racers get 200 to 250 kilometres before the ZoomX foam loses noticeable rebound, similar to the Alphafly 3. Save it strictly for race day and speed sessions and rotate a daily trainer for the rest of your training block.
