Which Oakley frame should I buy first?

The Gascan in matte black is the classic first Oakley: wide coverage, a tough frame, and a shape that has not changed in two decades for a reason. The Encoder is the pick if you want the newer single-shield look for runs and rides.

Are these usable for bike commutes and outdoor sport in India?

That is what they are built for. Wrap shapes like the Gascan and Flex Scape block wind and dust on two-wheeler commutes, and the lenses handle harsh midday glare. For running or morning cricket practice, the lighter Encoder stays planted.

What does a Prizm lens actually do?

Prizm tunes the lens tint to boost specific colours and contrast rather than just darkening everything. On the Kith Hydra with Prizm ruby, roads and greens separate more sharply in flat afternoon light. Regular grey lenses simply cut brightness evenly.
