Mexico 66 or Tokuten: which black Onitsuka Tiger should a first time buyer pick?

The Mexico 66 Triple Black is the safer, lower profile daily pair, easy to wear with formal or casual Indian outfits alike. The Tokuten runs chunkier and sportier, better suited to someone who already owns a low profile pair and wants contrast.

How does an all black Onitsuka Tiger pair work with Indian formal and office wear?

The Mexico 66 Triple Black is low profile enough to pass in smart casual Indian offices when paired with chinos, unlike bulkier sneakers. Save the Tokuten or Advanti builds for weekend or streetwear focused outfits instead.

Do the suede panels on black Onitsuka Tiger pairs need special care in Indian monsoon weather?

Yes, the suede side stripe on the Mexico 66 stains easily in wet conditions, so use a suede protector spray before monsoon season and keep a soft brush handy to lift dried mud rather than wiping it while wet.
