Cable knit cotton or wool cashmere: which sweater should I pick first?

Pick the cable knit cotton if you want a lighter layer for Delhi or Bangalore winters and airport wear. The wool cashmere runs warmer and softer against the neck, better suited to hill station trips or Kashmir style cold rather than a plains winter evening.

Does a Polo Ralph Lauren sweater work over Indian formal wear?

Yes, the crewneck versions layer cleanly over a collared shirt for office wear once temperatures drop, and the polo pony sits small enough on the chest that it does not compete with formal trousers. Skip the bulkier cable knit for anything black tie.

How should I wash a wool cashmere sweater to survive Indian humidity storage?

Hand wash cold or use a wool cycle, lay flat to dry away from direct sun, and store with cedar blocks rather than mothballs once the season ends. Humid coastal cities need the sweater fully dry before folding to avoid a musty smell developing in storage.

How do the cable knit and Yankees crest crewneck differ in fit?

The plain cable knit cuts closer to the body with a traditional crew collar, while the Yankees crest version runs slightly boxier with a heavier knit gauge built for streetwear layering. Size down on the Yankees piece if you plan to wear it fitted.
