Do shoe trees work for sneakers, or are they just for dress shoes?

Shoe trees work in any lace-up with enough interior volume: leather sneakers, high-tops, and structured running shoes all benefit. They are less useful in very narrow lasts or lightweight running shoes where the upper is too flexible to hold a form.

Cedar versus plastic shoe trees: which is better for India?

Cedar is the better choice in India's humid climate. Cedar naturally absorbs moisture and odour, reducing the conditions that cause leather to crack and foam to break down. Plastic trees maintain shape but do not manage moisture.

What size shoe tree should I buy?

Most shoe trees are adjustable and come in size ranges such as small, medium, and large. As a general guide, pick the range that covers your size in India, then adjust the tension so the tree sits snugly without forcing the upper to stretch.

How long should I leave shoe trees in between wears?

Leave them in for at least 24 hours after wearing, which gives the cedar time to draw out moisture before you store the pair. For a rotation of three or more pairs, one set of trees can move through the collection as pairs rest.
